The Industry Classification Coding System (ICCS) License: Access restricted to University of Saskatchewan faculty, staff and students for non-commercial study and research by DLI license agreement. http://library.usask.ca/data/dli/dlilicense.html Abstract: Industry Classification Coding System, v. 1.3 helps users code records, at the lowest level of detail, to NAICS Canada, 1980 SIC-E and other select classifications. Codes supplied for other Industrial Classifications supported by the ICCS, such as the NAICS United States and ISIC Rev 3.1, are base on Statistics Canada's interpretation of these classifications. The Industry Classification Coding System allows a user to describe a business' major activity and see a list of 1980 SIC-E and NAICS Canada codes matching this description. The class definition is provided for each code in this list of potential matches. Using this information, a user can then select the best code to apply to the record's description. The ICCS also allows a coder to enter an industry classification code (1980 SIC-E or NAICS Canada) and get a list of all the ICCS business activity descriptions associated with that code, as well as its class definition and concordance to other classifications in the ICCS.
