CCHS 3.1 data

The CCHS 3.1 Public Use Microdata Files are provided in ASCII format in this product. They are called "hs.txt" (common and optional content file), “hss1.txt” (common and sub-sample 1 content file), “hss2.txt” (common and sub-sample 2) and “hss3.txt” (common and sub-sample 3).See File Names and Sizes.

Accessing the CCHS 3.1 data in SAS ® or SPSS ®

Syntax files are provided to read and label the microdata . The data can easily be staged in SAS or SPSS format by running the corresponding "READFILE" syntax file. See File Names and Sizes.

Accessing the CCHS 3.1 data with Beyond 20/20 ®

The microdata can be tabulated using the Beyond 20/20 Browser utility provided with this product. See Tutorials.

To use the browser, you need to have it installed on your computer Install Beyond 20/20 Browser. Once installed, you can use the Browser to create your own tabulations.

Start Beyond 20/20 Browser (select Open) – for common and optional content.

Start Beyond 20/20 Browser (select Open) – for common and sub-sample 1 content.

Start Beyond 20/20 Browser (select Open) – for common and sub-sample 2 content.

Start Beyond 20/20 Browser (select Open) – for common and sub-sample 3 content.
