It consists of three waves of data gathered before and after the 1988 Canadian national election. The first wave, conducted by telephone in October and November 1988 before the November 21st election focused on respondents' interest in the election, perceptions of the media, and voting intentions.It also included attitudes toward policy and campaign issues, assessments of government performance, and ratings of leaders, parties, and candidates. The second wave was conducted by telephone after the election from November 1988 through January 1989. It contained some of the same items covered in the first wave but also included items on voting behavior, campaign activities, and groups in Canadian society. The third wave, conducted by mail from December 1988 through March 1989, explored fiscal priorities, the economy,policy issues, changes to Canadian socioety, political efficacy, societal goals, capitalist values, rights and liberties, and conceptions of community. download date: May 18, 2007 CK
