Abstract:
The Community Boundary File (CMN) represents the boundaries for Canadian communities. Communities are a geographically defined area identified in part by a group of interacting people living in a common location. In addition to a common location, the community may be re-enforced by similarities shared within a location that include shared cultural, ethnic, or moral characteristics. |
Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) document 19115 Geographic Information - Metadata. Elements shown with green text are defined by ESRI and will be documented as extentions to the ISO 19115. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog.

Communities boundaries will reference the MAF product in urban areas. In rural areas, communities will be new boundaries created using a modeled approach.
