Abstract
The SaskAdmin_2014_PROVINCIAL_BOUNDARY dataset forms part of the overall SaskAdmin2014_FullProduct dataset and the Provincial boundary polygon and attributes (name and type) for the province of Saskatchewan. This data is suitable for use in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Drawing Systems (CAD).
-
Purpose
The purpose of the SaskAdmin_2014_PROVINCIAL_BOUNDARY dataset is to provide users with the authoritative geospatial representation of the Provincial boundary in the province of Saskatchewan. This dataset is extracted from Information Services Corporation's integrated geospatial database at of the end of each calendar year.

Data Quality
- Attribute Accuracy:
-
- Attribute Accuracy Report:
- Attributes have been created by two means, depending on the attribute. Some, like the PPID, are generated by the system according to a set of rules. Others have been manually entered (transcribed) from the source documents. Transcribed attributes are checked manually to identify errors and external sources of information have been used to validate the attributes wherever possible. There is no independent quantification of the accuracy of the attribute values but it is believed to be very good.
- Logical Consistency Report:
- The data is free of duplicates and overlapping features.
- Completeness Report:
- The data is current to December 31 of the previous year and was completed on the publication date. Any changes made after the publication date will be reflected in the following year's release of the data.
- Positional Accuracy:

- Horizontal Positional Accuracy:
-
- Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report:
- The positions in this data set are correct to within 5-10 metres in the rural portions of the province and to within 1-2 metres in the urban portions. The relative accuracies are better than 5 metres in the rural areas and 1 metre in the urban areas for points that are near each other. The relative accuracies decrease as the distance between points increases.
-
- Horizontal Positional Accuracy Value:
varies
- Horizontal Positional Accuracy Explanation:
- The horizontal positional accuracy varies due to the information used to derive the coordinates. The accuracy of each coordinate is dependent upon the age of the survey, the quality of the survey and the quality of the horizontal control points in the area of the survey. The coordinates were calculated using information shown on plans of survey, historical survey field notes, field measurements, control surveys and aerial photographs.

Horizontal positional accuracy
The positions in this data set are correct to within 5-10 metres in the rural portions of the province and to within 1-2 metres in the urban portions. The relative accuracies are better than 5 metres in the rural areas and 1 metre in the urban areas for points that are near each other. Estimated accuracy: varies
How this value was determined:
The horizontal positional accuracy varies due to the information used to derive the coordinates. The accuracy of each coordinate is dependent upon the age of the survey, the quality of the survey and the quality of the horizontal control points in the area of the survey. The coordinates were calculated using information shown on plans of survey, historical survey field notes, field measurements, control surveys and aerial photographs.
