Abstract:
The 2009 Saskatchewan Road Network Data depicts the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary road network in Saskatchewan which has been enhanced with road names, place names, and locations.
Purpose:
The Saskatchewan Enhanced SURN Data set is designed to serve a variety of clients, including both private and government organisations, that require relatively current and accurate descriptions of all roads located in the province of Saskatchewan.
Supplemental_Information:
2008 maintenance operations have completed the following for the 2009 release: 1) Updated all the highway and designated roads component (numbered roads) and 2) Updated all the street networks of Regina and Saskatoon 3) Updated topology for linear connectivity
Maintenance operations during 2009 will: 1) Maintain all the road segments covered during 2008 2) Add the remaining urban municipalities of the province to the maintenance process and 3) Add approximately 30% of the provincial tertiary rural roads to the maintenance process
Maintenance operations during 2010 will: 1) Maintain all the road segments covered during 2009 and 2) Add any/all remaining roads to the maintenance process

Data was created by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways & Infrastructure and includes linear and point geometry. Concerning segmented road features, segmentation is created at locations where the attribute values change. Point features such as Blocked Passages and Toll Points which are located along a Road Segment do not create segmentation at that point.
ISC added posted street name attributes to the Road Segment data, and this data was then transformed from the Lat and Long geographic coordinates to UTM extended zone 13 CSRS98.
