NID
National IDentifier - This unique identifier is the NID attribute from the SURN (Saskatchewan Updated Road Network) Road Segment shapefile. It is a 32-character string. Where a standalone NGD road segment exists that does not intersect with an SURN road segment, this field must be set to -1 (negative one). In all other cases, this field will be populated with the NID from the SURN shapefile. Some additional exceptions will occur during the course of the conflation process that will require the NID to be duplicated. This situation will be the result of the following conflation matching conditions: 1. In one to many relationship between the SURN and NGD data source. 2. In many to many relationships between the SURN and NGD data source.

ARS
Address Range Side - The side of the road element according to its digitizing direction. While the address range values, taken from the NGD file, are extracted from the ADDR_FM_LEFT and ADDR_TO_LEFT attributes, the addressRangeSide value is 1 (for left). Therefore, if the address range values are extracted from the ADDR_FM_RIGHT and ADDR_TO_RIGHT attributes, the addressRangeSide value is 2 (for right).

DDF
Digitizing Direction Flag - This value indicates if the digitizing direction of the NRN geometry and its corresponding NGD geometry are in the same direction. If they both have the same digitizing direction, the digitizingDirectionFlag value is 1. If they are not, the value is 2.

When the NGD PARITY value is R, it was neccassary to determine if the houseNumberStructure is even or odd. To do so, for each side, the first and last house number (ADDR_FM_LEFT and ADDR_TO_LEFT for the left side, ADDR_FM_RIGHT and ADDR_TO_RIGHT for the right side) must be examined. If they are both even, the houseNumberStructure value is 1. If they are both odd, the houseNumberStructure value is 2. If one is odd and the other is even, the houseNumberStructure value is 3. If both are equal to zero, the houseNumberStructure value is 0. |

MATCH_QUAL
MATCH_QUAL attribute qualifies the confidence level of the resulting conflation made between a NRN instance and an NGD instance. This conflation qualifier attribute is an integer value. There are four possible MATCH_QUAL attribute values which cannot be absent and must have a value of 0 - 4

No conflation (standalone) |
|
1 |
unambiguous: The conflation result is obvious or certain when the following two conditions apply: The conflation can be made without any doubt although their geometry (shape, length and orientation) or their location may be different. |
|
2 |
ambiguous: All other conflations for which the conflation qualifier attribute value is not 0 or 1 with the exception of 3 & 4 below |
|
3 |
distortion: The NGD and NRN geometry is distorted but exists within the same spatial extent. |
|
4 |
model: The NRN geometry is retained (divided road for example) while the NGD geometry is discarded after attribute values have been transferred. |
